We will provide you the option to decline to receive product information from I us or (ii) third parties when we gather Personal Information from you. If you choose to receive this product information, you may change your mind at any time. For example, each communication you get regarding a product will have a simple “unsubscribe” link.
- Information Collected by Automated Means – We, as well as any of our third-party advertisers and/or service providers, may use a number of technologies that automatically collect information about how you access and use the Site (“Usage Information”) whenever you use it. Usage Information may include, but is not limited to, your browser type, operating system, the amount of time you spend on the Site, the number of times you visit the Site, and the website you visited immediately before the Site. This Usage Information is gathered to provide us with information about how you and other users use the Site, such as how many people visit a particular page on the Site, how long they remain on that page, and which hyperlinks, if any, they “click” on. We utilize Usage Information to help us keep the Site fresh and exciting for users like you, as well as to customize the Site’s content to your interests. Usage Information is usually non-identifying; but, if we link it with you as a particular and identifiable individual, we will consider it as Personal Information. By using the Site, you agree that we may gather Usage Information about you.
- Device Identifiers – We may collect your IP address, MAC address, or other unique identifier (each a “Device Identifier”) for the computer, mobile device, Wi-Fi card, or other technology (collectively, “Devices”) you use to access the Site when collecting Usage Information. A Device Identifier is a number that is given to your device automatically when you visit a website or its servers. Our computers recognize your Device based on its Device Identifier. Site Cookies – The technologies used on the Site to gather Usage Information, including Device Identifiers, may include, but are not limited to:
- Cookies – “Cookies” are data files that are stored on a Device when it is used to access the Site. Cookies may be used to gather and store information about you. - Web Beacons – We may also embed web beacons (also known as web bugs, Internet tags, pixel tags, tracking pixels, and clear GIFs) with the content and ads that we provide to you in order to gather information about your interactions with our content and advertisements that appear on our Site. A “web beacon” is a translucent visual image that is put on a web page or in an email to indicate that a page or email has been read or forwarded. Furthermore, a web beacon allows third parties to obtain information such as the IP address of the computer that downloaded the page on which the beacon appears, the URL of the page on which the beacon appears, the time the page containing the beacon was viewed, the type of browser used to view the page, and the information in third-party cookies. A web beacon may also instruct your browser to get information from a different server.
We use cookies and web beacons (collectively referred to as “Site Cookies”) to collect information about how you use our Site. Personal Information collected via Site Cookies may be evaluated. We use this information to monitor your interests in order to improve your experience on our Site, understand your interests and how you use our Site, and measure the efficacy of our Site’s advertising. By using the Site, you agree to the collecting of your Personal Information via the use of Site Cookies.

We also collaborate with a business named ReachLocal Canada, Inc., as well as its affiliates and parent company in the United States of America (collectively, “ReachLocal”), to help us advertise our goods and/or services. We may buy a retargeting product from ReachLocal, which allows ReachLocal to display you ads for our Site when you visit other sites in the ReachLocal network or third-party networks. ReachLocal is able to do this by using cookies supplied by ReachLocal via its third-party partners (“Advertising Cookies”). The Advertising Cookies are only used to display ads for our Site; they are not used to target you or collect information from you, including Personal Information, in any other manner. How to Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising
Most web browsers may be configured to alert you when you get a cookie, or you can choose to disable cookies, but either option may impact your use of our Site. You may opt out of certain network advertising programs that utilize your information if you do not want to receive tailored advertising.
For example, you may opt out of any or all of the advertisements supported by some or all of the Alliance members by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) Opt-Out Page at http://www.aboutads.info/choices/. Please keep in mind that even if you choose to delete your information (by opting out), you will continue to view ads when surfing the web. The ads you view, on the other hand, may be less relevant to you and your interests. Furthermore, many network advertising systems enable you to see and adjust the interest categories derived from your internet browsing habits. These interest groups influence the kinds of targeted ads that you may get. The DAA Opt-Out Page is a tool that identifies its member businesses that have cookies on your browser and links to their sites where you may opt-out of getting targeted advertising from those companies.
Furthermore, if you want to opt out of any of the Advertising Cookies, go to http://www.reachlocal.ca/opt-out, which will lead you to a web page where you may opt out of the Advertising Cookies presently used in conjunction with ReachLocal’s remarketing product and our Site.
