A dental crown is created using a mold and computer rendering technology to create a synthetic cap (made out of ceramic, porcelain fused to metal, gold alloy, or a base metal alloy material) in the desired tooth shape. The dental crown is then bonded to the damaged tooth, creating a natural-looking and functioning tooth.
